Meet the Brownwood Management Team
Carey Hartin – Regional Director
Carey Hartin graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. She worked several years, case managing adults with mental illness, and then joined A World for Children in 2003. She worked as a case manager, foster home developer, case manager supervisor, and currently is the Regional Director for the Brownwood and Wichita Falls offices.
Mica Allgood – Foster Family Specialist
Mica Allgood has her Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Howard Payne University. She has been a Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator since 2006. Mica has been working in this field with children of all ages and of therapeutic needs since 1992. She is currently serving as the Foster Family Specialist in the Brownwood Office and has been working with A World for Children since 2008. Mica is the mother of two teen boys and was previously a foster parent. Her passion is to help children succeed, while helping families find resources and developing more skills.
Keri Cooper – Clinical Director
Keri Cooper is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Webster University. Keri is excited to be a part of the A World For Children team as the clinical director for Round Rock, Brownwood, and Wichita Falls. Keri has a background in mental health, with a specialty in working with trauma. She has experience working in child welfare, foster care, adoption and emergency mental health services (disaster relief). Keri brings to her position over 14 years of experience working with children and families. Keri feels that it’s an honor to work and support such an amazing team of social workers and caregivers who help kids on their journey of healing.
