Evelyn Taylor is a graduate from the University of Southern Maine and holds a Baccalaureate degree in Psychology and a Minor in Elementary Education. When she moved toTexas in 1993, Evelyn gained years of valuable experience as a Counselor and a Medical Social Worker withhin Hill Country Community Action Association located throughout central Texas. During this time, Evelyn completed the state board to become a licensed Social Worker in 1996 and still maintains her license as a LBSW in the state of Texas. She also has plans of pursuing a Masters degree in Counseling, someday. In the years following the LBSW, Evelyn advocated for the needs of pre-school and community area children in the Head Start Program as a Health/Mental Health/Disabilities Coordinator where she gained working knowledge of community based managerial systems and resources to better advocate for the needs of the children in central Texas. Evelyn volunteers for the Salvation Army and within various outreach services in her local church. Evelyn joined the AWFC family in 2001 and is a firm believer in the AWFC motto of “Changing the world one child at a time”. Evelyn was thrilled to find an agency that truly supports this end by allowing her the flexibility to, not only advocate for and ensure the safety of other children, but meet the needs of her daughter as well. Evelyn lives by the “Golden Rule” of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” and strives to maintain integrity within every challenge.
