It is Spring! So much is happening in our World of foster care. In early June, AWFC presents LAUNCH CAMP which is designed to help prepare our teens in care for "life after care". This is very important in our attempt to eliminate abuse and neglect for our Texas teens.

As a part our very intense schedule, we have a foster care panel who talk to our teens about the struggles and successes in entering the adult world. Also this group of former foster folks answer questions ...from our teens. On of the gracious panel members from 2015 is returning to sit on the panel for this year's Launch Camp. Ernesto Olivares shared his opinion of last year's camp - "I said it last year that this camp is hands down one of the best i've seen in the country. I cannot wait to be there again."

Each year we have a them and do some fun activities with the kids involving the theme. This year we are stepping back into the Medieval Times and experiencing the "enlightment" of the Renaissance Period. One evening our teens will wander through a Rennaissance Fair with all the trimmings.

We need help from you! Many are sympathetic with our cause but can't commit to fostering - perhaps you can help with the following:

We need Medieval costumes for both male and femaile teens.
Search your closets or get out your sewing machines>

Our camp takes place in Brownwood, Texas at the Heart of Texas Campground.

We need crowns and "mayfaire" halos (a round of flowers filled in with lots of ribbon and streamers.

We also need face painters, hair braiders, makeup artist, stilt walkers, jugglers, and the list goes on.

These are just a few of the things we need help on. If you are interested, please call Sharon Willis at 512-218-4400 or email Hope to hear from you!
