World For Children Assessment Center is located in
rural Travis County on five acres. The assessment center provides emergency shelter
placement for children ages 0-18 years of age. This emergency placement consists of
routine care which includes food, clothing, room and board, and personal items. Also,
shelter placement ensures the health and safety of each child. Assessment services include
comprehensive medical and dental exams, psychological and psychiatric assessments,
behavioral logs and transportation which may be necessary to accomplish the childs
plan of service.
The assessment center is staffed with 24 hour staff providing around the clock supervision. The assessment center staff have specialized training in working with the emergency shelter population. Staff are committed to providing a safe, structured and nurturing environment. We believe every child has great potential and we strive to communicate that message to each child.
