Deep East Texas…. filled with beautiful pine trees, folks with soft Southern drawls, and wonderful porch swings. Sounds like a fabulous place to raise kids – imagine the children running to and fro catching fireflies at dusk.
Unfortunately all East Texas children do not look forward to dusk because night means terror. They lie in bed and pray the bedroom door will remain closed and no one will enter and do unspeakable things. No child should be exposed to this horror. AWFC takes children from these nightmares and gives them a safe place to live – a place filled with love and hope. AWFC has been serving families in this area since 1997 and opened an office in Tyler in 2005.
