Holiday for AWFC Children Made Special

the children gasped at all the delight Santa and his helpers had provided.
Under the direction of Roxanne Hill and Laurie Muder, the families of Forest Creek Elementary really "brightened the eyes and lightened the hearts" of our many children.  Over 250 gifts were donated for Santa to carefully distribute to all the "good little children" associated with AWFC.  What a mighty effort!
The response from other community groups was overwhelming.  A special blessing will be prayed for all those that shared their bountiful blessings with A World For Children.  Thank all of you for your support.  (See "THANK YOU " page.)

others were posing for a Christmas photo memory; others were busy eating pizza and all were socializing.  As the end of the party neared, Santa and his elves distributed gifts that resulted in many  "oohs and aahs".
In addition to the Round Rock extravaganza, fun and fellowship were abundant at the East Texas Christmas party and the Conroe Christmas party.

Message from the Editor - Sharon D. Willis

Dear AWFC Family and Friends,
As we reflect over the 1998 year, we give thanks for all of the tremendous blessings that were bestowed on A World For Children.  A blending of  spirits and hearts has allowed AWFC to serve over 500 children this  year.
As we glance back, AWFC has experienced fantastic growth - in foster care we have doubled in the number of children served from December 1997 to December 1998. Our foster families have increased also over 100% with a total of 68 foster families working with  A World For Children.
In addition to the foster care program, the AWFC Emergency Shelter/Assessment Center has served a critical need in the greater Central Texas area. The continuum of services between the shelter and foster care program have been invaluable in better meeting the needs of children in care.
The community has truly blessed AWFC during 1998.  A $10,000 play scape was donated to the AWFC Shelter - the children have enjoyed many hours of entertainment and recreation  with that fantastic addition.  The play scape is symbolic of many generous donations the community has shared with AWFC during 1998 -  Christmas giving, Holiday treats; clothing; toys; and the list goes on……
1998 also brought a spirit of cooperation as we launched a new service from AWFC - participation in the Capital Area
