THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY -- MCALLEN

“Vivir por los ninos!” Truly our Valley staff and families focus all their energy on living for the children. Our Valley is rich with heritage, sunshine, beautiful crops and many of God’s forgotten, hurting children. AWFC began serving this area in 1999. With a small staff, a handful of families and a big vision, AWFC began serving the Valley.

In addition to serving CPS children, AWFC has developed a strong program to serve young men and women under the supervision of the various Juvenile Probations Departments. Working in partnership with Hidalgo County Juvenile Probation, AWFC has developed a successful program to provide after care services for boys who exit the boot camp program. Since the institution of the COMPASS Program, the recidivism rate of boys leaving the boot camp has dropped from 80% to 20%.

The Valley community is very supportive of our mission with health fairs, golf tournaments, Christmas parties, etc. Currently our Valley AWFC is serving over 150 children and young people. We would love for you to stop by our office and meet our staff as they say “ Bienvenido”.
